about

Mutualism, a relationship between two species of organisms in which both benefit from the association.

A continuation of an exploration of the Ciat Lonbarde Cocoquantus 2 and creative drought. Comprised of two 8-bit loopers, which can be modulated by an elaborate system of intertwined oscillators in the center by the user, the Cocoquantus is a unique instrument which can add colour, chaos, and unpredictability to any sound fed into it.

Each of these tracks is comprised using two different loops quickly created from various synthesizers. Tuned and then modulated so as to never really play through the same twice. They are embarrassingly simple tracks to make, if you were to even call them tracks, or that I made them. However, I would often make a set of loops and then get lost in the in interplay, the mutualism, listening to the same loops, sometimes for hours, a distraction, a meditation.

These short vignettes are presented as they were recorded, in order. A glimpse into a process of simplification and listening to the relationship between two loops.
