Hot on the heels of new albums (Muzan & Shimmering Moods) from these two prairie artists, comes their long form explorations recorded for Drone Day 2020.

Chad Munson is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from the Canadian prairies. At the age of 7 he received a malfunctioning analog synthesizer. Listening to the broken synthesizer drift, drone, and distort sparked a fascination with texture that has defined his musical output since. Munson has been producing electronic music since 1998, quietly releasing 9 albums while splitting his time with numerous other projects like Golden Smoke, The Moas, and Grey Light District.

Raised in rural Saskatchewan, Kris Burwash had a much different relationship to music and sound. The quiet of prairie nights, the clamour of farm machinery, the blasting of 80s metal tapes cruising down back roads. Self taught guitar led to playing in many garage bands both in Saskatchewan and Edmonton (where he still lives). In 2001, he opened Listen Records, a hub of experimental music in Western Canada. In 2007 he started vinyl only label Uzu Audio. Between starting a family, running the store and label, and a table saw fight, creation went on the back burner until he finally took the plunge into the modular synth world in 2016. He has since released 3 full lengths albums and a double cassette audio sketchbook. The most recent 'Holding Air' was released this spring by Amsterdam based Shimmering Moods.
